TPOPS, based in UT’s College of Social Work, contributes to the welfare of the children of incarcerated parents who are better-empowered to support them. TPOPS provides assistance to noncustodial fathers who are incarcerated or recently released, as well as informational sessions for correctional staff. TPOPS is funded through a contract administered by the Tennessee Department of Human Services and the University of Tennessee.
The Legal Clinic works to serve the community and the indigent, to encourage future pro bono service, and to contribute to the education and development of law students to become thoughtful, skilled, and ethical attorneys.The longest-running legal clinic in the nation, UT Law’s clinic started in 1946 and involves 12 faculty members and approximately 100 students every year.
