UT Contingent Spent Summer on Service-Learning, Peace Mission in Uganda

Student and faculty on the Gulu Study Abroad trip had opportunity to engage with Ugandan religious figures.

Rosalind I. J. Hackett, professor of religious studies, and Tricia Hepner, associate professor of anthropology, along with eleven UT students are returning this week after spending five weeks in northern Uganda as part of the Gulu Study and Service Abroad Program. Established in 2011, GSSAP gives students the chance to combine classroom learning with their work with local agencies that promote peace and development in the war-affected region.
