Faculty Scholarships Available for Engagement Scholarship Consortium Conference
UT’s Academic Outreach and Engagement Council (AOEC) has travel funds available for three (3) faculty members to attend the Engagement Scholarship Consortium Conference at the University of Nebraska. The 2016 conference will take place in Omaha, Nebraska on October 11th-12th, with pre-conference workshops taking place October 9th-10th. Click here for more info on the Conference.
Criteria for selection may include whether you are selected as a presenter at the conference, and your demonstrated interest or experience in engaged scholarship. Please submit an email request with details of your interest to Anna Sandelli, Chair of the Faculty Awards and Recognition Committee for the Council, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Include the reasons for your interest in attending the conference and the possible outcomes you see resulting from your attendance.
Conference scholarships will cover 100% of registration, travel, and lodging costs, up to a total of $2000 per attendee. For 2016, the university has secured a group discount and has prepaid the conference registration fee of $425 for each UT attendee. The remaining funds, up to a maximum of $1575 per participant, will be reimbursed to participants’ departments for associated conference travel and lodging costs. Participants have the option of registering for additional pre-conference sessions. Additional conference fees and lodging expenses are also reimbursable, provided all conference-related expenses do not exceed the maximum allowable reimbursement of $1575.
Each traveler’s department is responsible for processing all travel related expenses. Once travel is completed and the traveler has been reimbursed by his or her department, documentation will be submitted to the Office of Research and Engagement, which will transfer funds to reimburse the departmental account.
